In 101, Part Four, we delve into the massive, all-too-real coverup that took place in the asbestos industry: How the asbestos industry was able to hide the dangers of their product for so many decades and how they delayed and suppressed the release of information regarding the health risks of asbestos. This was achieved largely by working with corruptible experts to edit scientific studies in order to get a "pro asbestos" point of view across, and by collaborating with other companies in the industry to further that conspiracy.
And, of course, no conspiracy would be complete without lobbying for legislation that would protect industry, which was almost universally done at the expense of worker safety. Many people died, and many more will continue to die.
