The British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) is the definitive voice of occupational hygiene in the UK. BOHS has strong national and international alliances with other health and safety organisations, the HSE, trade unions and business. With a multi-disciplinary membership from industry, health, education and research, we are by far the most prominent hygiene society in Europe and now form a single focal point to promote and drive forward the profession on behalf of all practitioners, regulators, academics and students. As a learned and professional society, established for over 60 years, we provide internationally recognised qualifications, scientific conferences, membership services and publications. The Faculty of Occupational Hygiene within BOHS is recognised internationally as a significant professional examination and qualification body and plays a vital role in developing and maintaining the professional standards of its practitioners. In 2012, BOHS was delighted to be awarded Royal Chartered status and recognised as the Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection. As a science-led charitable body, we work to protect everyone’s right to a healthy working environment. We provide you with access to experts in the field, specialist occupational health and hygiene information, details of relevant regulatory changes or new information on workplace health risks and what these might mean. Offering professional support, news, reviews, events, we are keeping you up-to-date and providing you with networking opportunities with fellow professionals, forums for debate and information exchange, and a wide range of publications. The BOHS flagship publication is the Annals of Work Exposures and Health published by Oxford University Press. The Annals is dedicated to presenting advances in exposure science supporting the recognition, quantification and control of exposures at work, and epidemiological studies on their effects on human health and wellbeing. We offer BOHS membership to anyone with interest in a healthier working environment.
